On Friday, April 13th at the Prime Ministers’ Office the press conference devoted to the Baltic Regional Energy Forum was held. In this event were taking part H.E. Mr Aigars Kalvitis, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, H.E. Mrs Catherine Todd Bailey, the United States Ambassador to Latvia and Mr Ojars Kehris, the President of Economists Association 2010, representative of the Baltic Economic Forum.

“I would like to underline that for a very long period of time there were no so large international conferences and forums devoted to energy in Latvia…  I hope that Baltic Regional Energy Forum will be a reference point and the beginning at the same time for the energy questions discussions in the local and the Baltic Regional level”.

H.E. Mr Aigars Kalvitis, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia

During the Baltic Regional Energy Forum in June, Riga will become the hub for a significant dialogue between various important partners from the political and economic sector brought together here by the event. The exchange of ideas, the experiences shared and the expertise will be a valuable benefit for all of us. As Ambassador of the United States- it is with great privilege that the United States Government, our Embassy here in Latvia in conjunction with the Government of Latvia work together to provide insight as well as dialogue on this most important topic that faces all of us in the 21st century and beyond.
